Hi, I’m Bryony.

I'm a mum of three, a SEND professional, and the founder of SEND Meadow. My personal and professional experiences navigating the SEND system have shaped my deep understanding of how overwhelming it can feel. I'm here to guide families through it with clarity, compassion, and confidence, making the process more manageable, more human, and more hopeful.

Two of my children are neurodiverse, and it’s their journey that first sparked my passion for understanding autism and all things SEND-related. Being a SEND parent can be incredibly tough, there are days filled with joy and progress, but also moments of doubt, frustration, and confusion. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, especially when navigating the education system, trying to secure the right support, and advocating for your child’s needs.

One thing I’ve learned is that you never really know what’s coming next, and that applies to parenting in general! There’s that one meal your child suddenly loves, they insist on it every day for a month, and for a while, you feel like you’ve cracked it. Then, out of nowhere, they refuse to touch it, and you’re left thinking, “But you’ve insisted on this for the last thirty days!” It’s moments like these that remind us: we’re not always in control and sometimes, all we can do is laugh.

Through my own experiences, I’ve come to understand just how emotionally draining and challenging the EHCP process can be, but I’ve also felt the relief and joy that comes when your child finally gets the right support. That’s why I created SEND Meadow: to help other families feel heard, supported, and empowered.

I began working in education around 14 years ago, first as a teaching assistant and cover supervisor and then as a qualified English teacher. I now work as an Inclusive Learning Coordinator at a college, where I:

  • Prepare and write up EHCP annual reviews

  • Conduct and take notes for review meetings

  • Submit reviews to local authorities

  • Review consultation bundles for college placements

In addition to my professional role, I also volunteer as a facilitator for a local social group for autistic adults, offering continued support to the wider neurodiverse community.

Qualifications & Training

  • IPSEA SEND Law Training – Levels 1, 2 & 3

  • Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism

  • Level 2 Certificate in Specific Learning Difficulties

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Enhanced DBS Checked

I combine professional training with lived experience to offer thoughtful, practical, and empathetic support to every family I work with.

The SEND system can feel overwhelming, but with the right support, a bit of humour, and some determination, it’s possible to make a real difference for your child.

When I’m not working or navigating the ups and downs of parenthood, I enjoy watching live stand up comedy and binge-watching comedy TV and films, finding humour wherever I can, because honestly, laughter keeps me sane and smiling through it all.
